“463” finds himself signing his life away to take part in a drug trial shrouded in secrecy. He finishes his signature, and is chemically transported into a virtual world by an unknown woman overseeing the operation. The closer he becomes to understanding the situation, the further he slips from reality. As the world around him becomes gradually more distorted, he begins to grapple with past conflicts that lead him to the program. “463” attempts to regain control and composure the only way he knows how, which only leads him further from reality. The world reaches peak surrealism and “463” finds himself rapidly slipping away, leaving who he is behind. He does not leave the lab alive. The mysterious woman concludes her note taking and compiles the test results into a singular folder. It joins the hundreds of other identical folders in a huge filing cabinet labelled “Preliminary Tests.” Documented, filed and forgotten, “463” was only part of the beginning.
