NEPAL 2020
ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT

Natural beauty, cultural experiences and adventure, what better way to end college. After grinding away at 12 years of schooling Dubin, my long time friend, and I thought it was about time we did something adventurous and without parental supervision. We didn’t make it easy for ourselves but as we kept reminding each other, that wasn’t the point. “Well we wanted an adventure” was our blanket statement for the good times, the bad times and the times where we didn’t quite know whether it was good or bad. After some research we decided on doing the Annapurna Circuit via a few landmark cities.

So, picture this wild adventure in December on the Annapurna Circuit, where my mate and I decided to spice things up by mountain biking the trail. We thought we were the trailblazing kings until day one slapped us with a reality check – one of our bikes decided to throw in the towel. We had planned to do 30kms that day, on bikes, not bad, pushing a bike; bad. Dubin's nervous uncle insisted when we were in Kathmandu that if anything were to go wrong, we should turn back, assuring us our journey would be cut short. This became our motivation. Yet, every struggle was worth it when we reached Thorong La Pass, battered bikes and all, and soaked in the insane views. Lesson learned: trekking? Yes. Mountain biking? Maybe not in December!

The following are broken up into the components of the trip from Kathmandu, around the Circuit, arriving in Pokhara, transiting back to Kathmandu via Chitwan.
